Breaking Barriers have teams across the country and have nurtured successful partnerships with businesses and communities to support refugees and forced migrants into new careers in the UK.

CHAWREC aims to support Hong Kong BNO to integrate into the area by providing opportunities for socialisation and one to one support to access key services, including employment, health, education, language etc. We cover local authority areas of: Cheshire West & Chester, Warrington, Cheshire East, Halton.

Hong Kong Cultural Community C.I.C., a not-for-profit organisation based in Greater Manchester, is dedicated to promoting Hongkongers’ culture and facilitating their integration into the local community.

To support migrants from Hong Kong in the North West, Jobs for Hongkongers has been set up by The Growth Company, across the North-West of England to support Hong Kong BN(O) residents coming to our region. This site provides access to employment and support services.
Lancashire County Council
Lancashire County Council’s Refugee Integration Team leads the County Council’s response to and work with refugee and forced migrant communities across Lancashire. Established 8 years ago the team has a shared vision of integration, equitability, sustainability, co-production, empowerment and fostering the potential and contributions of refugees and asylum seekers. With over half of the team having lived experience of being a refugee, asylum seeker or forced migrant the Refugee Integration Team will be delivering support across both Lancashire and Cumbria.
Manchester Communities
Manchester Communities is a not-for-profit organisation. We aim to support people from migrant and culturally diverse communities to connect to community resources, receive practical help, and undertake educational and group activities, including volunteering, so that people can improve their chances of finding work, make friends and engage in their local communities.

“United for Hong Kong” is an initiative delivered in the North-West by The Growth Company – A non-for-profit social enterprise based in Manchester.
Torus Foundation
Torus Foundation are the charitable part of the Torus Group, the North West’s largest affordable homes provider. Torus works with a wide range of partners, businesses and VCSE organisations to support people across the region into work, with their wellbeing and with education, helping to improve lives and build stronger communities. Torus have already supported over 100 BN(O) visa holders in Cheshire and Merseyside.
Vauxhall Community Law and Information Centre
Our project seeks to provide an accessible, friendly and helpful advice and support service for Hong Kong BN(O) Visa holders settled in the North West Region, with a focus on the Liverpool City Region. The project will deliver advice face to face, via telephone and online. Advice given will be available in both English and Cantonese.
