Strings of Life
The project aims to help BN(O)s settle into their new life in the UK with happiness, prosperity, and a sense of belongings. The project caters to the needs of the BN(O)s in three stages: landing, struggling, and integrating. It aims to support at least 1000 BN(O)s throughout their settling journey in the UK.
The landing stage involves immediate assistance with assessing housing, healthcare, education, and daily necessities.
The struggling stage includes English language development for employment and support to sub-groups, including children, youth, men, women, and the elderly, with mental health issues, education challenges, discrimination, and social exclusion.
The integrating stage is to help BN(O)s integrate into their local communities, build English language skills for socializing, and include them in the development plan of the Leeds City Region. The stage’s focus is on upskilling talent, transforming professionals, and directing investment.
